Rest in Peace Alexander McQueen 1969 -2010

I hate this moment. I'm not a very good writer, i just express the exact words on my mind but this is one of the very moments I wish i had the talent to type down amazing fruitful phrases for a true genius. Genius that is Alexander McQueen.

I was waiting for my boyfriend to get ready for his work so that I can go to bed after a long day of processing my requirements for my new job. However, my heavy sleepy eyes widened with shock and disbelief. I was reading an entry from Chuvaness and I thought maybe it's an April Fool's Day joke but its not April yet. World renowned British fashion designer & fashion icon Alexander McQueen died. News online said he committed suicide. He was just 40.

I refuse to believe the news so I try to google more information on this but as i keep on clicking my heart continuously breaks into pieces. He is really gone.
Again what others say is true, you only see some of the greatest things a person had done when he's already gone. I wasn't really much of a fan of his outrageous creations because I'm more, let's say simple, uncomplicated and quite plain in terms of style but his works amaze me. Perhaps, the only time that i really opened my eyes to Alexander McQueen was when Lady Gaga strutted his "lobster-claw shoes" in her video Bad Romance. I truly regret not having to express much admiration to his extraordinary talent while he was still with us. Nevertheless, his creations will live with us for eternity.

Thank you Alexander McQueen for giving us something to "whoa" about, for giving us such jaw-dropping ensemble ever to hit the runway and thank you for always keeping us wondering and making us look forward to your ever show and ALWAYS deliver above expectations.

Fashion in my generation is not the same without you. You will be missed. Rest in Peace.

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper for Mac Viva Glam

I first about Lady Gaga being Mac's new Viva Glam endorser through a free MAC workshop i attended (the perks of lending my face to make-up students like Carla) facilitated by Mikee. If you're wondering who he is, well she, she's one of the talented make-up artist you'll find at the Mac store in Glorietta and i'm telling you it's really hard to miss her.

Anyway, I'd love to try the lipsticks these divas made, bubble gum pink and light coral red from Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper respectively.

Oh and last, share lang. Did you know that in exchange for 6 empty Mac make up cannisters or bottles, containers or whatever you'll receive a free lipstick of your choice! Mac says its a way of saying thanks to their lovely sukis.

Updates!

Lets start with the obvious, I got a new layout! I've decided to lose the old complicated one because no one can comment or view my previous entries. I didn't want to let go of the old layout because it was just so simple yet pretty but this new one is not so bad. Thanks to my brother who helped me with the banner.

One more thing is I'M ALREADY EMPLOYED! Yes, after 3 months of searching for something so that I can put food on the table (more like to put more clothes in the closet haha). Compared to my previous jobs, I'm now officially in retail which is where I kind of where I want to be since I would like to pursue fashion.

So bye bye now to insomiac nights and countless hours online. TIME TO WORK!

Jessica Biel in Oscar De La Renta

Jessica Biel wore an Oscar De La Renta chiffon gown at the Valentine's Day premiere. I like it a lot and it reminds me so much of Dolce & Gabbana's silk hand painted organza dress, the one another Jessica wore (Jessica Alba) in the cover of InStyle magazine for December 2008.

Grammy's 2010

This is a late post, but better late than never. I just wanted to post who made it to my best-dressed list (kala mo fashion consultant talaga!)
Miley Cyrus in Herve Ledger (so now we all know how to pronounce this)

Jennifer Hudson in Victoria Beckham (this dress makes her look slimmer)

Ciara in Givenchy (me thinks there's gonna be more of sheer gowns in 2010)

And this one from Beyonce, I don't know who made this but i like it so much.

I was neutral on Pink's fish scale gown but she definitely wowed the crowd for her very Cirque du Soleil-ish performance.
